Chicken & Mushroom Stroganoff (Frozen)


Stroganoff is one of those retro sort of dishes that you think went out with the fondue set.  And then you eat it again.  And then you realise that perhaps overlooking it was a bit hasty.

This Dinner on the Table version has been modernised somewhat, with due reverence to the educative work of the Heart Foundation, in particular the public health messages about saturated fat. 

Lean chicken breast is quickly cooked with onion and garlic, loads of mushrooms and a creamy sauce (based on the significantly lighter evaporated milk, rather than cream). 

Suitable for low sodium version.  Gluten free.

Ingredients: Chicken breast, evaporated milk, mushrooms, vegetable stock (housemade) onion, tomato paste, garlic, olive oil, paprika, cornflour, pepper, salt

Low sodium version does not contain salt or vegetable stock
