A gift for Mother's Day: orange cake, shortbread, tea, honey, tea ball

A gift for Mum

For Mother's Day.

In a former life, I wrote a thesis on becoming a mother. The writing of this beast, over a number of years, was challenging, traumatic at times and its completion was one of my proudest moments.

The thesis paled into insignificance in comparison to becoming a mother myself. Challenging, traumatic at times, and a task I hope never to complete. The junior recipe testers are three people of whom I am most proud.

The woman I call Mum is a rock of stability, wisdom, thoughtfulness and care. From the agonies of teenage romances to the trauma of chasing a large reptile out of my house whilst keeping small children calm, Mum was there. She has always offered calm and sage advice, often knowing what I needed before I knew it myself.

There are few words to describe how special mums are to us. No matter how old we get.

And so we wanted to create something very special just for your mum. An elegant orange cake, homemade shortbread biscuits, and a jar of delicious ginger honey from our good friends at Amber Drop Honey. And Mum can enjoy all this with a cup of French Earl Grey tea, brewed up in her own tea ball.

Delivered to your home for Mum (oh alright, you can have one too), a box of love and deliciousness.
